Teddy TouchupsSmall fixes to full remodels.

Hey neighbor,

Walk in showers, built right.

Tiled showers with glass, niches and benches, planned around how you actually get ready in the morning. Eddy has over 40 years of remodeling experience, and the part he cares about most is the part behind the tile.

Tony usually answers. If not, he texts you back the same day.

What a walk in shower costs

A new tiled walk in shower in Frisco, Fairview, University Park or Dallas usually costs $8,000 to $25,000, with most landing between $8,000 and $15,000. Size, tile, glass and whether plumbing moves set the number. If the shower is part of a full primary bath remodel, the whole room typically runs $35,000 and up. Replacing a tub? Your options

We'll walk through these at the consultation and tell you honestly which ones are worth it for your bathroom.

Glass
Frameless glass doors or a fixed panel with no door at all. Clear glass makes a small bathroom feel bigger, and a coating helps with hard water spots.
Tile
Large format tile means fewer grout lines to clean. Mosaic on the floor gives better grip. We'll tell you what actually holds up.
Niches and benches
A built in niche keeps bottles off the floor. A bench gives you a place to sit or prop a foot, and it can be built into the wall or float.
Fixtures
Rain heads, handheld sprayers on a slide bar, body sprays, and thermostatic valves that hold the water temperature steady.
Low curb or curbless
Easier to step into and easier to clean. On a concrete slab a true curbless shower may mean recessing the floor, so Eddy checks what yours allows.
Safety, built in
Grab bars blocked into the framing, a seat, and slip resistant tile. It looks like a nice shower, not a hospital room, and it works for the long haul.

Walk in shower questions

How much does a walk in shower cost in Frisco or Dallas?

A new tiled walk in shower usually runs $8,000 to $25,000, with most landing between $8,000 and $15,000, depending on the size, the tile, the glass and whether plumbing has to move. Built as part of a full primary bath remodel, the whole room typically runs $35,000 and up. Your written estimate arrives within minutes of a free consultation.

Is a walk in shower worth it?

For most primary baths, yes. It's the part of the bathroom you use every day, it's easier to get in and out of, and a well built tiled shower is a strong selling point. If it's the only bathing spot in the house, we'll talk about keeping a tub elsewhere.

Do I need a door on a walk in shower?

Not always. If the shower is deep enough and the shower head is placed right, a single fixed glass panel keeps the water in without a door. Eddy will tell you whether your space works for it.

Can you build a walk in shower for aging in place?

Yes. A low curb or curbless entry, a built in seat, a handheld shower, grab bars blocked into the walls and slip resistant tile. Planned from the start, it looks like a beautiful shower rather than an add on.

What keeps a tiled shower from leaking?

The parts you never see: a pan sloped correctly to the drain and a continuous waterproofing layer behind all the tile. That's where most failed showers go wrong, and it's where Eddy's 40 years of experience matters most.
