Dallas houses come in every age

Dallas is a big city with a long building history. In neighborhoods like Lakewood and the M Streets you'll find 1920s and 1930s homes with plaster walls and original doors. Across Preston Hollow, Lake Highlands and much of North Dallas, the 1950s and 1960s ranch house rules. Newer homes from the 1990s and 2000s have the same builder finishes we see up in Frisco.

Each one wears differently. Older homes have doors that have settled out of square, plaster cracks, painted over hardware and windows that stick. Ranch houses have original trim and tile, and walls full of anchors from fifty years of owners. Newer homes have nail pops and tired caulk.
